Learnership at Bozza and Nemisa

ONE-YEAR LEARNERSHIP IN MOBILE, NEW MEDIA AND WEB/ TV VIDEO PRODUCTION

Do you want to spend a year studying television production at Nemisa and gaining valuable work
experience in the Bozza offices? Then you could be one of our Learners for 2015!

WHAT IS THIS LEARNERSHIP ALL ABOUT?
Nemisa, the National Electronic Media Institute of South Africa in Johannesburg is offering a one year initiation course into film and TV broadcasting. This programme aims to take candidates from an idea to being able to plan, shoot and package their own inserts in a year period. Students will be able to choose areas of specialisation, such as
camera work or editing, while still aquiring skills in all areas of production. Bozza, one of Africa's most exciting new media creative platforms, will be partnerning with Nemisa to offer 2 candidates a chance to spend the rest of their time in the Bozza workplace learning how to apply their studies to a new media environment. Students will be expected to develop web video stories and produce them for Bozza.mobi. Candidates will also be expected to
work on other areas of the mobile platform, from sourcing African content to researching and publishing.

WHEN DOES IT START/ HOW LONG DOES IT RUN?
• On the 2 February 2015, candidates will start an 8 week boot camp at Nemisa where they will learn all the basics of TV/ Video production and shooting for mobile and TV.
• Candidates will begin their full learnership in the workplace at the end of March/ beginning of April in the Johannesburg Bozza offices.
• The Learnership will run till mid December 2015.
• Registration in Johannesburg begins mid Jan and runs till the boot camp begins in
February.

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS?
Candidates have to be South African, and must have a Matric;
You must be based in Johannesburg during this year;
You must have good writing skills in English and must be willing to learn;
You must have a 'can-do" and positive, creative attitude;
You must be able to work independently and part of a team;
You must be able to travel to Nemisa and the Bozza offices easily.

WHO COVERS MY TUITION COSTS?
The two chosen candidates will receive a monthly, untaxed stipend of R1500 from Nemisa and
SETA as well as having all tuition costs paid for during this year.
