REQUIREMENTS : 3 years relevant Degree or National Diploma in HRM or equivalent qualification; Qualification in labour law would be an advantage. Knowledge of Human Resource Practices, Public Service Act, Public Service Regulations, Human Resource Policies, Disciplinary Code and Procedure and Rules for Dealing with Grievances in the Public Service; Working knowledge of PERSAL. A valid driver`s license Skills and Competencies: Organizing skills; Analytical and decision- making skills; Computer literacy (Ms Office); Communication skills (verbal and written); Confidentiality, tack and discretion when dealing with people; Problem solving skills; Accuracy and attention to detail; Interpersonal and Research skills.
DUTIES : Key Performance Areas: Ensure compliance with and correct application of prescript relating to grievances and disciplinary matters. Advise management and staff on grievance and disciplinary processes. Facilitate the resolution of grievances and therefore act as designated officer in terms of the grievance rules. Investigate allegations of misconduct and recommend appropriate action. Act as departmental representative in disciplinary hearings. Keep statistics of labour relations matters and analyse this reports. Perform administrative duties within the unit, including drafting memoranda and letters with regard to Labour Relations.
