Head Chef Wanted at Midrand

Table 29 is a new vibrant restaurant that will soon be opening in Midrand. Our aim is to provide patrons with a combination of great tasting food and exceptional customer service.

We require someone who is versatile, naturally creative, possesses strong initiative & is self-motivated to provide excellent service & dishes that will constantly promote our restaurant brand. This position requires an individual who has strong managerial skills, is efficient, highly organised & has a strong work ethic.

The role of the Head Chef encompasses the below: 

•Full management & co-ordination of the Table 29 kitchen
•Menu design, creation & execution of all the different Table 29 offerings
•Recruitment & training of the kitchen staff
•Strong communication, leadership and management skills
•Needs to be highly motivated, determined & able to successfully manage a team of 15 - 20
•Possess the ability to organise and plan your own work and that of your staff
•Maintenance & implementation of kitchen procedures as required
•Must have good logistical understanding to ensure kitchen resources are always at optimal levels
•Strong food & costing knowledge with a proven record of successfully managing food costings and therefore be able to control a budget and work with figures
•Has the ability to work calmly under pressure and have the stamina to cope within the busy kitchen environment
•Must have strong knowledge of both hot & cold kitchens
•Ensure that the most stringent standards of cleanliness and hygiene are always maintained
•Knowledge of Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) procedures
•Own transport essential
•Matric/Grade 12 essential
•Tertiary Hospitality qualification preferred
Micros (POS) experience advantageous
Verifiable references required

Salary Negotiable based on Experience & Qualifications

Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar position within a restaurant environment is essential
